Welcome to the website of Grupo Aventura, a professional theatre company based in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Grupo Aventura specializes in producing both classical and new theatre works in Spanish for the Montevideo audience with a young cast of energetic performers .

Since its creation in 1988, Grupo Aventura has produced 11 full length shows and has especially prided itself in presenting for the first time in Uruguay, the work of two U.S. playwrights, David Mamet's Duck Variations (Variaciones Sobre El Pato) and Mary Jane Walsh's
Finishing It Off! (Luces En El Espejo),
which garnered the Florencio Award (Uruguay's equivalent of the Tony Award) for Best Actress in a Play.

In 2000, Grupo Aventura was invited to travel to the United States with their production of Luces En El Espejo and to represent Uruguay in the International Hispanic Theatre Festival, sponsored by the Washington, D.C. based Teatro de La Luna.  

In 2003, Grupo Aventura produced the World Premiere of the first Spanish production of the Broadway musical Working (Trabajadores)
by Stephen Schwartz and Studs Terkel.
  Artistic Director Álvaro Loureiro translated the text into Spanish, U.S. choreographer, Stefan Sittig created the choreography and they both co-directed this lively musical about the hopes, dreams, joys and concerns of the average worker.
